Dave Aguilera Career

Having witnessed firsthand how the weather has a profound impact on people, Dave has lived through and reported on numerous significant weather phenomena, ranging from blizzards and tornadoes to floods and droughts. Since 1986, he has worked as a TV and radio presenter throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. Primarily, he is an optimist, which is a positive attribute when others prefer to hold you responsible for unfavorable weather conditions. Nevertheless, Dave always looks forward to going to work and attempts to inject a little sunshine into his audience’s lives, regardless of what the sky is doing outside.

Aguilera knew he wanted to work in television as early as his senior year of high school, but he thought that meant breaking the news. Following his 1987 Bachelor of Science in mass communications/journalism from Colorado State University/Pueblo (previously University of Southern Colorado), he discovered that his career path was changing. His interests were genuinely on the rise. The sky suddenly held all the information Dave could ever want. Mississippi State University awarded him a Certificate in Broadcast Meteorology later on.

As a professional acknowledgment of the caliber of his weather forecasts, he is a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) with the American Meteorological Society. The CBM designation is sought after by radio and television meteorologists as a symbol of distinction and acknowledgment. Dave possesses the Television Seal of Approval from both the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. Dave has held weather anchor positions at KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado; KOAA-TV in Pueblo/Colorado Springs, Colorado; and KRQE-TV in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In addition, he served as a disc jockey for KCCY, KRYT, and KDZA in Pueblo and as a news reporter/anchor for Denver’s KHOW and KOA radio stations. Dave fulfilled a collegiate ambition of his own in September 1993 when he accepted a job as a meteorologist at CBS4.

Aguilera dedicates a significant portion of his yearly schedule to instructing thousands of primary school youngsters along the Front Range and motivating them to join the CBS4 team as Junior Weather Watchers. Throughout the year, Dave takes part in and hosts a lot of fundraising events for charitable organizations. This is his way of giving back to the community, which he thinks has given him so much. His long-term goal is to stay employed by CBS4. Living in Denver, which he considers to be the “greatest city in the country,” entails coaching his children’s basketball and soccer teams in between and playing golf when the weather is pleasant.
