Daniel Hoffman is an American anchor working for FOX NEWS as a contributor. He joined the FOX news team in May 2018, after previously working for Central Intelligence Agency.
Hoffman earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Bates College, followed by a Master of Science from the London School of Economics. Additionally, he also earned a Master of Public Administration from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. His distinguished career unfolded at the Central Intelligence Agency, where he held the positions of a three-time station chief and a senior executive Clandestine Services officer.
Within this role, he led extensive HUMINT (human intelligence gathering) and technical programs, with assignments encompassing duty in the former Soviet Union, Europe, and conflict zones in the Middle East and South Asia. Hoffman also served as the director of the CIA Middle East and North Africa Division. Over his 30 years of government service, he collaborated with the US military, including a stint as an associate professor at the Army Command General Staff College. Since May 2018, Hoffman has been a Fox News contributor and regularly contributes to the Washington Times.

Hoffman’s wife, Kim was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer in January 2017, she faced a complex Whipple surgery to eliminate a cancerous tumor from her pancreas. In addition to that, she also endured 14 months of chemotherapy, underwent a hernia operation and experienced two liver resections over the span of three years. In October 2019, her surgeon cautiously informed her family that he had successfully removed the remaining cancer from her liver, sparking a few months of hopeful anticipation that she had triumphed over the disease.
Unfortunately, the cancer resurfaced the following spring, obstructing her bile duct. Despite undergoing more arduous and painful treatments, none proved successful. On a December morning, fearing the imminent loss of Kim, Hoffman took the sons outside for a tearful conversation. He explained that their mother had fought with unwavering determination, but the cancer was proving insurmountable. We then went to the hospital to bid their final farewells. Kim passed away in March 2021 after a four-year battle with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer.
