Dan Thorn is an American anchor working for KRON4 as a weekend evening anchor at 8 p.m. He joined the KRON4 news team in 2018, after previously working for WOWK 13 News.
He started his career at CBS2 News in New York City as a desk assistant after graduating from Brooklyn College. His first on-air position was as an evening anchor for Ghent, West Virginia’s WVNS 59News. After three years of anchoring and reporting for WOWK 13 News in Charleston, West Virginia, Dan joined the KRON4 News team in October 2018.
Dan received awards from the West Virginia Broadcasters Association for best breaking news coverage and best general assignment reporting while he was employed in the mountain state. Dan led the statewide team on WOWK’s “West Virginia Tonight,” where he covered a thousand-year flood, a statewide teacher strike, historic criminal trials, and the opioid epidemic. Additionally, Dan interviewed a number of prominent politicians and businesspeople, such as US Senator Bernie Sanders. His favorite stories are those that highlight good deeds in the community. In his spare time, Dan enjoys traveling, listening to music, working out, and watching sports and movies.
