Dan Miller is an American sports anchor and reporter working for FOX 2 as the sports director. He also serves as a radio play-by-play announcer on the Detroit Lions Radio Network. In addition, he joined the FOX 2 Detroit team in 1997.

He was born and brought up in Washington D.C and his interest in sports grew at an early age. In his childhood days, he played a number of sports such as football, baseball, and basketball. During his teenage years, he attended Baltimore Colts, Baltimore Orioles, and Washington Redskins games with his father.
He attended George Mason University and during his college years, he secured a job at Mutual Radio Network affiliates WJLA and WTEM. He assisted as an engineer during the weekend sportscasts. Later in the year 1992, he worked for three months at WTNT in Washington D.C as an overnight talk show host and Washington Redskins beat reporter.
Furthermore, he secured his first television job at WTTG in 1994, where he served as the host of the Washington Redskins pre-game show. One year later, he served as a weekend sports anchor at WJLA-TV in Washington D.C. In addition, he also served as a play-by-play announcer for NFL on Fox’s regional broadcasts from year 1994 to 1997.
Ever since he joined FOX 2 in 1997, he has been serving as the sports director and on-air personality. He serves as the sports anchor and host of the weekly sports discussion show Sports Works at the station. In addition, he also announces during The Ford Lions Report when Lions highlights clips are shown. Over the years, he has also been actively involved in the community and is an active member of the Detroit Sports Media. In 2004, he was named the best local tv sportscaster by The Detroit Free Press. Furthermore, for excellence in sports broadcasting the Detroit Sports Media awarded him the Ty Tyson Award.
