Dan Henry Biography
Dan Henry is an American five-time Emmy award-winning meteorologist who is currently working at FOX 4 where he serves as the chief meteorologist. In addition, he joined the FOX 4 team in January 2003.
His family relocated from California to the East Coast in February 1979. After he had graduated, he secured his first job as a research meteorologist. Later on, he worked at a station in Wilmington, North Carolina. In addition, Henry attended Penn State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
He has served as a meteorologist for thirty years and during this time, he has covered; tornadoes, hailstorms, floods, ice storms, blizzards, heat waves, and hurricanes. A number of severe weather events in North Texas inspired him to track down these survivors and interview them.
In addition, over the years he has been awarded five Emmys inclusive of three for Best Television Weathercaster in Texas. In 1992, he earned the American Meteorological Society’s Seal of Approval. Furthermore, in 2007, he earn the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist thus making him the first meteorologist in the DFW area to receive the award.
