Dan Bowens Biography
Dan Bowens is an American anchor working for FOX 5 as the co-anchor of the weekdays morning newscast, Good Day Wakeup which airs from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. He joined the FOX 5 news team in February 2019.
New Jersey is Bowens’ native home and he attended Ohio Wesleyan University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs. Over the years, Dan has received five Emmy awards and he also serves as the host of a true crime podcast known as “The Tape Room With Dan Bowens.” In addition, Bowens writes and assists in the production of FOX 5’s nominated series, “Jazz Stories.”
Back in 2021, Bowens served as the anchor of the Sunday evening broadcast on FOX 5. The newscast was awarded a New York Emmy award for being the best Weekend Newscast. In addition, the honored also recognized the entire FOX 5 News weekend team for its coverage of the George Floyd protests in New York City.
Dan joined the FOX 5 New York team in February 2019, as a weekend evening anchor at 6 pm and 10 pm. Prior to joining FOX 5, he worked at KEPR-TV in the Tri-Cities, Washington. and WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Florida. Furthermore, he is active in his community as he volunteers his time at schools and other community organizations. Bowens is a member of the Selection Committee for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson & Union Counties.
