DaLaun Dillard Biography
DaLaun Dillard is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX 26 as a weekday morning co-anchor alongside Melissa Wilson from 7 am to 10 am. He joined the FOX 26 team on December 6, 2023, after previously working for WEWS/ News 5.
DaLaun Dillard Career
While working for WEWS, Dillard served as the co-anchor of the weekday evening newscast at 5 pm alongside Courtney Gousman. Dillard also served as a field reporter for the 11 pm newscast, he joined the station in May 2021, and his last day at the station was December 4, 2023. Battle Creek, Michigan and he joined Central Michigan University in 2012, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Broadcast/Cinema Arts in 2016. While Dalaun studied at Central Michigan University, he also served as the production manager of the university’s television station, In addition, he was also a staff reporter on UCTV, the university’s television station.
After having graduated, Dillard relocated to Mount Pleasant, Michigan where he worked for News Central 34. While working at Central 34, Dillard served as a multimedia journalist for more than three years. He has also previously worked for WOODTV 8 in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he was a newsroom intern. In addition, DaLaun has also worked for WMBD/WYZZ in Peoria, Illinois as a reporter/ anchor for almost 2 years. Furthermore, Dillard also worked for KETV Newswatch 7 in Omaha, Nebraska and while he was at the station he served as a reporter/ anchor for two years.
In May 2021, DaLaun joined WEWS-TV in Cleveland, Ohio and while he has been at the station, he has served as a reporter and co-anchor of the evening newscast at 5 pm. Furthermore, during DaLaun’s time at WEWS-TV, he has received a number of Regional Murrow awards. He received a Murrow Award for his breaking news coverage of local protests in response to the murder of George Floyd. In 2022, Dillard was named one of Cleveland’s Most Interesting People by the Cleveland magazine. During Dillard’s leisure time, he enjoys traveling, trying a great local restaurant, running near the lakefront, watching movies, and spending as much time as he can with family and friends.
