Creed Bratton Biography

Creed Bratton is an American award-winning actor and singer best known for starring in Saving Lincoln (2013), The Ghastly Love of Johnny X (2012), and Into the Dark (2019). He rose to fame after starring in the TV series The Office (2005).

Creed Bratton Career

Perhaps the most well-known role that Creed has played is that of a fictionalized version of himself in nine seasons of the critically and award-winning NBC sitcom “The Office.” His reputation as the director of quality assurance at Dunder Mifflin, who routinely makes weird and nonsensical statements and unrepentantly forgets the names of his own coworkers, won him, admirers, across the globe for almost eight years. Laughter was certain if Creed was on screen.

Even though Creed is most renowned for his on-screen antics, he has a nearly five-decade career as an established musician and shows no signs of slowing down. “While the Young Punks Dance,” Creed’s seventh full-length album, will be released this year and includes ten all-new songs. On April 6, 2018, the album, which was produced by Dillon O’Brian and Dave Way (Sheryl Crow, Fiona Apple), will be accessible everywhere digital downloads are sold.

When he was a youngster, Creed started playing professionally. He earned money by performing while studying drama at Sacramento State College and College of the Sequoias. Later, he joined the renowned American rock group The Grass Roots, contributing lead guitar to three of the group’s first four albums, which went on to chart and sell millions of copies worldwide. After splitting up with the group in 1970, Creed pursued his love of acting and music, performing all around Los Angeles. Over the years, Creed has put out a few solo albums, such as “Tell Me About It,” “Chasin the Ball,” “The 80s,” “Coarsegold,” and “Creed Bratton.”

“Grace and Frankie,” “Comedy Bang! Bang!”, “Franklin & Bash,” and “Adventure Time with Finn & Jake” are among the more television credits for Creed. Regarding movies, Creed will next be seen with Jake Gyllenhaal and Joaquin Phoenix in “The Sisters Brothers” (Annapurna). The movie, which is based on the 2011 historical novel, centers on a brother and sister who are hired as assassins in the western United States in 1851 and are assigned to kill a wealthy prospector. The release date is not yet confirmed.

Creed is busy performing, writing music, touring, and traveling. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, swimming, hiking, doing yoga, and going trout fishing. Creed is a committed supporter of FirstBook, an organization that has helped organizations and schools serving children from low-income families in more than 30 countries distribute more than 170 million books and instructional materials. Additionally, Creed supports Lidè, an educational program that empowers at-risk adolescent girls in rural Haiti by using the arts and literacy to foster resilience. Additionally, Creed is active with the Alzheimer’s Association.

Creed Bratton The Office

The fact that the character is portrayed by Creed Bratton, a musician of the same name, and is partly based on him may cause confusion. Though he and Malcolm’s lines in the pilot episode are similar, he doesn’t have an analog in the BBC series, unlike other characters in this version of The Office. According to B.J. Novak, there is only one difference between the real Creed Bratton and the role he plays: the real Creed is a kind and likable guy, but Bratton’s character has a very dark side.

Creed Bratton works as a quality assurance manager at the Dunder Mifflin paper distributor’s Scranton location. He is a deviant, former hippie, and homeless guy. A mystery character, Creed is known for frequently making odd or perplexing statements. In the “Fun Run” episode, Creed gave his birthdate as November 1, 1925. Since his age does not correspond with his appearance, this is probably incorrect. Creed has an incredibly bad memory as a result of drug use throughout his rock music career in the 1960s and obvious mental instability.

His introduction to Meredith in “The Convention” implies that, despite her many years of employment at Dunder Mifflin, he believes she recently started working there (after referring to Angela as “Andrea”). He frequently has spider solitaire open on his work computer when spotted there. He never appears to have been working at the office, although on occasion he goes to great lengths to make sure he has a job. He’s usually pretty quiet, so most of his coworkers don’t know what he works there, and Creed doesn’t know either.

Creed Bratton Grass Roots

After hearing the demo, producers and songwriters P. F. Sloan and Steve Barri were impressed. They had formed a folk-rock ensemble in 1965, and they needed more members. During this period, the 13th Floor lost their bass player to the draft. They then promptly hired Rob Grill and renamed the group the “Grass Roots” to capitalize on their previous name recognition. In 1967, the trio went on a US tour, and their single “Let’s Live for Today” shot straight to the Top 10. Hit songs like “Midnight Confessions” solidified the group’s reputation as one of the leading forces in the rock music industry.

Leading songwriters contributed their greatest songs to the Grass Roots, and they also wrote a lot of their own tunes. The Wrecking Crew, a group of LA studio musicians, provided the music for their major hits on the recordings. In addition to writing “Dinner for Eight” and “House of Stone” on his own, Bratton co-wrote the songs “Beatin’ Round the Bush,” “No Exit,” and “Hot Bright Lights.” “This Precious Time” and “Dinner for Eight” featured his main vocals. On the albums Let’s Live for Today, Feelings, Golden Grass, and Lovin’ Things, Bratton performed with the band. Golden Grass was certified as a gold record, and three of the albums reached the charts. Ten of the group’s singles included him, eight of which went on to chart; “Midnight Confessions” was certified as a gold record.

On Sunday, June 11, 1967, the band Grass Roots performed at the Fantasy Fair and Magic Mountain Music Festival, part of the “Summer of Love” that coincided with the release of their top-ten hit song “Let’s Live for Today” on radio. Despite taking place before to the Monterey Pop Festival, the music festival was not captured on film, unlike the latter.

As the top-ten single “Midnight Confessions” gained popularity, the group performed at the San Francisco Pop Festival on Sunday, October 27, 1968. Later, in December, they appeared at the Miami Pop Festival and the Los Angeles Pop Festival. Dunhill’s insistence that the band write its own songs and play the instruments on its records infuriated Bratton in April 1969. Bratton was asked to leave the band following a poor April 1969 show at the Fillmore West.
