Constance Jones is an American anchor working for WTVJ as a weekday morning anchor at 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. alongside Kris Anderson. She joined the NBC 6 news team in February 2021.
Constance Jones Career
Prior to joining the NBC6 news team, Constance worked for WRIC-TV in Richmond, Virginia where she served as an evening anchor for nearly three years. Over the years, Jones has worked in a number of television markets such as; Miami, New York City, Oklahoma City, and Atlanta. While Jones worked in Miami for 9 years, she worked at WLRN National Public Radio in South Florida and WPLG-TV where she served as an anchor and reporter. In addition, she also worked at the CBS Evening News alongside veteran news journalist Dan Rather.
During the 17th Judicial Circuit of Florida, Constance served as the Communications Director alongside the Broward State Attorney. The Society of Professional Journalists honored Jones in 2022. She did breaking news coverage in 2021 of the Surfside Condo Collapse for which she was honored by the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists. In addition, for Constance’s reporting work and many awards, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored her, and she received an award from the Texas Associated Press. Furthermore, for Jones Excellence in News Reporting, she received many recognitions and awards from a number of regional chapters of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
In the Legacy Magazine, Jones was featured as one of Miami’s “Top 40 under 40 Leaders of Tomorrow.” She attended Sam Houston State University where she graduated proudly. Not long ago, Constance was honored in 2022, as Sam Houston State University’s “Most Outstanding Young Alumna.” She is also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the National Association of Black Journalists. Stuttgart, Germany is where Jones was born and the better part of her childhood was spent in Timisoara, Romania.
