Cody Chaffins Biography
Cody Chaffins is an American Emmy award-winning sports anchor and reporter working at FOX 5 Atlanta where he serves as the weekend sports anchor and host of Dirty Bird Report and High 5 Sports. He joined the FOX 5 Atlanta team in October 2012, after previously working at WJXT-TV.
He was brought up in Atlanta ad for the last 10 years, he has covered his hometown for FOX 5 Sports. While he played football at Chamblee High School, he once spent his Friday nights on the field, but he now prefers to shine the spotlight on the next generation. While working at FOX 5, he covered the master, Super Bowls, College Football Playoffs, World Series, and Daytona 500. In addition, his favorite assignments was in the summer of 2014, when together with Ron Gant, they covered the trio of Braves inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
Stone Mountain is his native home and he witnessed many of Atlanta sports including; the Falcons’ 1998 Super Bowl run, the Braves’ 1995 World Series title, and the 1996 Olympics. Chaffins attended the University of Georgia where he studied broadcast journalism and graduated in 2007. After he had graduated, he was able to secure a job at WNEG-TV in Toccoa, Georgia, and later worked at WJXT in Jacksonville, Florida.
