Ciara Encinas is an American Emmy award-winning journalist working at ABC 10 where she serves as a multimedia journalist. She joined the ABC 10News team in December 2021 as a multimedia journalist.
Prior to joining the ABC 10 team, she worked in her home state of Arizona where she served as a reporter for a period of three and a half years. She also worked at KYMA in Yuma and El Centro where she served as a reporter for two years. While she worked at KYMA, she covered; presidential visits, city government issues, border security issues, and immigration, and flew with The Blue Angels. In addition, for her outstanding work at KYMA, she was awarded two Emmy awards.
Later on, she worked at KGUN 9 in Tucson, Arizona where she served as a multimedia journalist for one and a half years. While she worked at KGUN 9, she covered community issues such as how TCE water contamination continues to impact Tucson families and the growing homeless crisis. She attended the University of Arizona where she proudly graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism. During her leisure time, she enjoys visiting coffee spots around town, loving her pug, Fitz, and hiking the beautiful trails in San Diego.
