Christie Smith is an American Emmy Award Winning reporter working for KNTV as a weekday reporter from 4:30 am to 7 am and then again at 11 am. She joined the KNTV news team in 2001 after previously working for KCRA-TV.
Smith is a graduate of Berkeley High School. Christie earned a BA in English from UC Davis and an MSJ (in journalism) from Northwestern University at the Medill School of Journalism. Smith began her on-camera news career as an anchor and reporter in Medford, Oregon. She later moved to KCRA-TV in Sacramento and worked as a reporter for three years.
Here, she covered major stories like the tragic school shooting just outside of San Diego and the Yosemite Sightseer Murders. Smith also worked at KCCN-TV in Monterey and WFLD-TV in Chicago as a producer and news writer. In the course of her career, she has been awarded an Emmy Award.
