Glorioso attended Syracuse University where he studied at its Newhouse School of Public Communications. He also studied at Great Britain’s Oxford University where he earned his undergraduate degree in political science and broadcast journalism. In addition, Chris also studied at New York University where he graduated with a Master of Public Administration degree with a specialization in finance.
Chris started his broadcasting career at WSYR-AM radio in Syracuse, New York where he served as a reporter. Later on, he relocated to Burlington, Vermont, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he served as a weekend anchor and reporter on television. Glorioso is a member of the board of directors of the Reciprocity Foundation, which is a non-profit organization in New York City that is devoted to assisting homeless youths in finding sustainable careers. Furthermore, Chris has also worked at City College and NYU as an adjunct professor of journalism.
For Glorioso’s series “Prescription for Addiction,” he was awarded an Edward R. Murrow award in 2013. For NBC 4’s team coverage of the 2017 Tribeca terrorist attacks and Superstorm Sandy, Chris was awarded two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and a National Emmy. In addition, for his devotion to the highest standards of journalistic integrity, he has received 19 regional Emmy awards.
Furthermore, from 2016 through 2018 was named the top television investigative reporter thus receiving an Emmy award. He was also awarded a New York Emmy in 2020, for top societal concerns news story. Chris did a report known as “A Sleepless Night in NYCHA” that gave an inside look at a family that had trouble with the public housing system in New York City. In addition, he also received a New York Emmy in 2019, for his top government and political stories.
Glorioso was the first to report on North Korea’s diplomatic mission to the United Nations. and for his report, he received both national and international coverage. For delivering New York’s top investigative story, Chris won the New York Emmy in 2014. In addition, his reports during the COVID-19 pandemic were a key component of NBC 4 being awarded the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award.
