Chris Cristi Biography
Chris Cristi is an American reporter working for ABC 7 as a helicopter reporter for the evening newscast. He joined the ABC7 team in September 2018, after previously working for Fox in Los Angeles, California.
Ever since Cristi relocated to Los Angeles in 2014, he has enjoyed a bird’s eye view of Southern California while reporting breaking news. Apart from traffic and weather, Chris has also covered the 2015 terrorist attack in San Bernardino, wildfires, and many police chases. He reported the Cajon Pass brush fire that consumed an entire stretch of freeway traffic. For his coverage, he received a Radio and Television News Association Golden Mike Award in 2016.
Florida is where Cristi was born and brought up and he attended the University of Central Florida where he studied communications and broadcast journalism. He has worked for NASA as a co-op at the Kennedy Space Center press site. After Chris; work on the tragic Space Shuttle Columbia disaster in 2003, he launched his helicopter reporting career in Orlando at the FOX affiliate and later at WSVN in Miami.
Furthermore, Chris flew on special assignment for CBS News in 2005, as Hurricane Rita ravaged the Texas coastline, while he chronicled the disaster as an airborne photojournalist. Over the years, Cristi has traveled the world while interviewing celebrities and newsmakers for a number of entertainment outlets such as InTouch Weekly, Us Weekly, and Life & Style magazine.
