Chris Chmura is an American Consumer Investigative Reporter working for NBC Bay Area. He joined the NBC Bay Area news team in 2016, after previously working for WTVT in Tampa.

Chmura was born in Long Island, New York, and raised in Tampa Bay. He earned a Bachelor of Science in telecommunications from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. His journalism career started when he first worked at WCJB-TV in Gainesville, Florida as a fill-in weekend weather forecaster. Prior to joining NBC Bay Area Chris worked as a consumer reporter at WTVT for 10 years giving viewers advice for saving money, avoiding scams, and traveling smart. In addition, Chris worked at WFLA in Tampa, and in Washington D.C. at The Associated Press and Conus TV News Service.
Chris is in charge of the NBC Bay Area Responds team, which addresses customer concerns and speaks out for viewers. His objective is to assist customers in resolving conflicts, regardless of their size, complexity, or complexity.
