Chelsi McDonald is an American sports reporter who is currently working at 7News where she serves as a weekday and weekend sports reporter. She joined the 7News team in October 2016.
Prior to joining the 7News team, he worked in New Orleans, Louisiana where he served as a sports anchor and reporter. She has covered the New Orleans Pelicans, New Orleans Saints, Tulane, and LSU. McDonald also reported on the LSU’s introduction of a new football coach, the Senior Bowl, and the NFL Draft. In addition, she has also worked in Savannah, Georgia and she began her television career in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she served as a sports anchor and reporter.
Furthermore, she also served as a sideline reporter for high school and college football games. She attended Florida State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mass media and communications. while McDonald was in college, she worked for WFSU and SunSports as a sports reporter. In addition, for four years, she has been a member of the FSU Cheerleading squad and for one season, she served as a co-captain. Chelsi is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists.
