Charley Belcher is an American three-time Emmy award-winning reporter working for FOX 13 Tampa Bay as a weekday morning featured reporter on a segment known as Charley’s World. Belcher joined the FOX 13 team in January 1998.
For his featured reporting over the years, he has been awarded three Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards. He received his first Emmy for a series of feature reports after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the NFC Championship game in St. Louis in 2000. Later in 2005, he won his second Emmy for profiling famous photographer Bud Lee, and his third Emmy was awarded for a feature story he did on a butterfly farmer in St. Petersburg.
Ft. Myers is his native home and he attended Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina where he graduated with a degree in broadcasting. Prior to returning to the Sunshine State, he worked at WIVK as a reporter and at WATE-TV in Knoxville, Tennessee. Furthermore, Charley is a huge sports fan, and always roots for the local teams such as the Bucs, the Bulls, the Rays, and the Bolts.
