Celina Pompeani Mathison is an American television host and reporter working for KDKA as the co-host of Pittsburgh Today Live. She joined the KDKA news team in October 2017, as a traffic reporter a position she held till December 2020.
Pompeani is a native of Pittsburgh and while working as a television personality, she has won an Emmy award. Since 2014, Mathison has served as an on-camera host for the Pittsburgh Penguins. For every home hockey game, Mathison enjoys meeting new people at the PPG Paints Arena. Prior to joining KDKA-TV in October 2017, as the traffic reporter for the morning newscast, she worked at WTOV-9 in Steubenville, Ohio from January 2013.
In addition, Celina attended Point Park University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcasting in December 2013. Prior to her scheduled graduation, she continued working at WTOV-9, while she served as the weekend news anchor and general assignment reporter till September 2014. After which, she took up a job at the Pittsburgh Penguins. Furthermore, for Mathison’s weekly entertainment segment on PensTV, Pens Trends, she won her first Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award in 2015.
Later in 2017, Pompeani joined KDKA as a morning traffic anchor before later shifting to Pittsburgh Today Live in June 2018. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation nominated and chose her as a member of Pittsburgh’s 50 Finest Class of 2015. Mathison was able to raise more than $8,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. She is also actively involved with the Mario Lemieux Foundation where she serves as a member of their millennial committee. During her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her family, trying out as many new restaurants as she can in the Pittsburgh area with her friends, golfing, and spending time with her husband, Mac.
