Cassie Semyon is an American anchor and reporter working for Spectrum News 1 as an on-air and digital Washington correspondent. She joined the Spectrum News 1 news team in November 2021, after previously working for WBOC.

Semyon earned a degree in Media Studies and Production with a minor in Political Science from Temple University’s Klein College of Media and Communications. After joining the Spectrum News Washington bureau as a member of the production team in late 2021, Cassie went on to become an on-air reporter six months later. Cassie has had exclusive interviews at Spectrum with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA). Her in-depth interviews with McCarthy in Bakersfield, California, his birthplace, and in Washington served as the inspiration for a three-part series that was only available on Netflix as well as a half-hour special, “Kevin McCarthy: The Journey to House Speaker.”
She works as a reporter in the Spectrum News Washington, D.C., bureau, covering news of interest to California as well as its congressional delegation. Semyon also worked as an intern for ABC’s NewsOne with NBC News’s Andrea Mitchell, where she assisted in reporting on breaking political news as well as the trial of Paul Manafort, the former chairman of Donald Trump’s campaign. After that, Semyon worked for WBOC-TV in Delmarva as a reporter, producer, and weekend anchor.
She covered central and southern Delaware, and for her ongoing coverage of the first COVID-19 vaccine administered in Delaware in 2020, she was recognized with a Chesapeake Associated Press Broadcasters Association award.
