Carol Cain Biography
Carol Cain is an American 12-time Emmy Award-Winning host working for CBS Detroit as the senior producer and host of Michigan Matters which airs on Sundays at 8 am.
Detroit is Carol’s native home and she attended Detroit Public Schools for her high school education. Later on, she joined Michigan State University where she graduated proudly. Cain also attended the University of Michigan where she studied at its Ross School of Business and graduated with a Master of Business Administration.
While serving as the host of Michigan Matters at CBS Detroit, Cain has interviewed the Captains of industries from politics, business, and more. The show focuses on business, politics, sports, education, and community issues. During the 2020 Presidential Election, Carol interviews Donald Trump and Joe Biden. During the 2012 race for CBS platforms, Cain conducted a national Digital Debate with Republican Gov. Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama.
In addition, she also served as the host and producer of CBS Detroit’s “Eye on The Future” TV specials. The special focuses on politics, education, and business, and for the specials. she was nominated for a Peabody Award. Furthermore, she started her career at United Press International where she served as State Editor. She also worked for the Toledo Blade as a Business Editor.
At The Detroit News Carol served as a nationally syndicated columnist and for her work as a columnist at the Detroit Free Press, she won a number of awards. She still has a Sunday column at the Detroit Free Press, that she continues to write. In addition, Cain also served as the National, International, and Business Desks editor at the Free Press.
