Carmen Chau Biography
Carmen Chau is an American reporter and anchor working for FOX 61 as a Saturday night anchor at 10 pm and 11 pm. She joined the FOX61 team in April 2017 as a nightside reporter.
Chau attended East Hartford High School where she graduated with a diploma. In 2007, she joined Eastern Connecticut State University where she graduated in 2010, with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Political Science. Later on, Carmen joined Quinnipiac University where she earned a master’s in broadcast journalism in 2012. In addition, while she was at Eastern Connecticut State University, she was also part of the campus’s TV news station known as News 22, where she anchored, reported, and also did behind-the-scenes work.
While she was at Quinnipiac University, she had the most talented and inspiring professors who she now considers her mentors. Chau also took part in a number of Autism 5 Walks/Runs throughout Connecticut where she assisted in raising money for a number of organizations. Furthermore, she was able to secure her first television job at WHAG-TV in Hagerstown, Maryland where she served as a reporter. Carmen worked at WHAG-TV for three years, and while she was there, she served as an anchor, producer of the weekend morning newscasts, and a multi-media reporter.
In 2015, she relocated to Albany, New York where she worked at News 10. While she worked at News 10, she covered breaking news stories during the 11 pm and 10 pm newscasts before she moved to FOX61 in 2017. During her leisure time, she enjoys doing yoga, running outside, spending time with her mom, and catching up on the latest shows on Netflix.
