Byron Miranda is an American Emmy award-winning meteorologist working for PIX 11 as a weekday morning meteorologist from 6 am to 11 am. He joined the PIX 11 team in June 19, 2017.
Prior to joining PIX 11, Miranda worked at WMAQ the NBC station in Chicago where he served as the weekday meteorologist. Before that, he worked in Los Angeles at KNBC where he also served as a meteorologist. In addition, Byron has also worked at KGTV in San Diego as the chief meteorologist and at KCBS in Los Angeles where he was also the chief meteorologist. He has also served as a meteorologist at CNN where he had a national presence.
Over the years, Miranda has received many awards including being a recipient of 4 Emmy awards under the best meteorologist category. In addition, he has also received the Golden Mike Award for “Best Weathercaster in Southern California.” Miranda started his career in Oakland, California where he served as an assignment editor. Prior to serving as a television meteorologist, he was in the U.S. Air Force where he served as an air traffic controller and Oakland police officer.
Miranda attended California State University in East Bay where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications. He also studied at Mississippi State University where he completed his broadcast meteorology program.
