Brittany Bell Biography
Brittany Bell is an American meteorologist working for WABC-TV as a weekly morning meteorologist. She joined the WABC-TV team in June 2021.
Prior to joining the ABC7 New York team, Bell worked for ABC 11 in Raleigh, North Carolina where she filled in on World News Tonight and Good Morning America. Over the years, Brittany has received many awards as a meteorologist including earning a prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the American Meteorological Society. In addition, Brittany attended Mississippi State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Professional Meteorology.
While Bell studied at Mississippi State University, she got selected to take part in the school’s Great Plains storm chase. She chased severe storms in Tornado Alley for a number of weeks. Brittany’s passion for weather started during her childhood days. In 1998, the Nashville F3 tornado struck and that is one major weather event that sparked her interest. She was in school when the twister hit only miles away. In addition, Bell has also worked in a number of regions of the country thus she has covered all kinds of weather ranging from snowstorms and tornadoes.
Furthermore, Bell started her career at WMC-TV in Memphis where she served as a freelancer during her senior year of college. Later on, Brittany worked at WAPT in Jackson Mississippi, 40/29 in Northwest Arkansas, and ABC 11 in Raleigh, North Carolina. While she worked in North Carolina, she covered a number of impactful hurricanes like; Dorian, Florence, and Isaias. During her spare time, she enjoys eating at local restaurants, spending time outdoors, and spending as much time as she can with her family.
