Briona Arradondo Biography
Briona Arradondo is an American Emmy award-winning reporter working for FOX 13 Tampa Bay as a general assignment reporter. She joined the FOX 13 team in August 2018, after previously working for WSMV.
Atlanta is Arradondo’s native home and in 2006, Arradondo joined Berry College in Rome, Georgia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in communication journalsim and a minor in Spanish in 2010. She also studied at American University where she earned a Master of Art in broadcast journalsim and international affairs in 2011. Briona discovered her love for broadcasting while she interned at WSB-TV in Atlanta.
Prior to relocating to Tampa Bay, she worked for WSMV in Nashville where she served as a fill-in anchor and reporter. While she worked in Music City, she earned a regional Emmy award for her reporting on breaking news during severe flooding across Middle Tennessee. Arradondo did also collaborate with international media and made live reports for BBC World News of the deadly Waffle House mass shooting that killed four people in April 2018. In addition, Arradondo started her broadcast journalism career in Steubenville, Ohio where she worked at WTOV while serving as a weekend anchor and reporter.
After working for a number of years in the snowy Ohio Valley, she relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee where she served as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WTVC. While Briona worked at WTVC, she earned an Associated Press award for her hard news reporting on gangs. Briona was brought up in a military home thus she gained an interest in travel, great food, and culture. During her downtime, she enjoys training for a 5K or half-marathon, exploring Tampa’s restaurant scene, and attending a performing arts show.
