Brian Mendoza is an American meteorologist working for Telemundo62 and NBC10 as a weekday morning and evening weather anchor. He joined the Telemundo62 news team in May 2017, after previously working for WUNI.
He graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in communications. After starting as a news reporter for Telemundo62 in May 2017, Brian spent four years filling in as the weather and news anchor. In the course of that time, Brian’s work with the Telemundo62 team earned him seven Mid-Atlantic Emmy Awards as a journalist. With his promotion to weather and news anchor in December 2021, Brian’s dedication to interacting with and supporting the Greater Philadelphia community only grew.
In his career as a journalist, Hurricane Harvey in Texas, Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, and the 2014 immigration crisis in McAllen, Texas near the Mexican border have been the three most memorable stories that Brian has covered. He was deeply affected by the openness and unadulterated feelings of families, particularly those of young people.
Prior to joining Telemundo62, he was employed at Boston’s Spanish-language station WUNI as a multi-media journalist and stand-in anchor. Brian used to work for a Telemundo affiliate station in Abilene, Texas, as an anchor and producer. When he is not on the news, he enjoys Salsa dancing and spending time with his family and friends.
