Bobbi Baker is an American Actress best known for starring in (2021), David Makes Man in 2019, and House of Payne (2006). She rose to fame after starring in the TV drama series Ruthless (2020–2023).

Baker was born in Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1998, she received her diploma from Athens Drive High School. In 2000, Baker participated in the Summer Intensive program at Oxford School of Drama. She earned a theater degree from Western Carolina University in 2001. Baker also joined the Pi Gamma chapter of Delta Sigma Theta at Western Carolina University. She then attended Juilliard for four years, graduating in the spring of 2007. Baker’s thesis, “To What Extent is Black Preaching a Manifestation of Black Culture?” made her the first graduate in the Juilliard Drama Division’s history to receive the Scholastic Distinction award.
Following her graduation from Juilliard, she played the role of Claudia in the stage production of Toni Morrison’s debut book, The Bluest Eye, by Hartford Stage Company and Long Wharf Theatre. For her role in The Bluest Eye, Baker received positive reviews from The New York Times, which stated: “Bobbi Baker is just terrific as a barbershop owner, Claudia, easily conveying both her adult perspective on the events of her girlhood and the child’s more limited understanding of them”. Baker was also included in the music video for the song “One More Chance” by the late Notorious B.I.G. He was rapping his verses and Baker was standing behind him at the foot of the steps, dancing.
She was cast as Kiki on House of Payne after Tyler Perry chose an audition tape she had sent in late 2007. In the third season of the show, Baker portrays Kiki, a female employee at a barbershop. For Baker, the role of the smooth-talking Northerner was a challenge. “Kiki is a dangerous woman…I’m not seen as tough by many. I resolved to delve further and locate this persona.
She had barely begun to show herself when we started filming,” Baker said. After that, Baker received an invitation to return for more seasons of House of Payne. Perry chose her for the role of assistant district attorney in his movie Madea Goes to Jail because of her work. “It’s been sort of a ‘work begets work’ type experience for me,” Baker stated.
