Bob Maxon Biography
Bob Maxon is an American meteorologist working for WVIT as a weekday morning meteorologist from 4:30 to 7 a.m. and through the Today Show. He joined the WVIT news team in 1995, after previously working for NBC Universal.
Maxon graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. While in college, he was part of the Sigma Nu Fraternity Cornell Soccer program. He began his professional career at WMUR TV in Manchester, New Hampshire in 1989 as a meteorologist. Prior to this, he had worked at Cable News Center 7 in Ithaca, New York. During his time as a professional meteorologist, he has covered many of the major storms that have struck the northeast including Hurricane Bob in 1991, the amazing President’s Day Blizzard of 2003, the blizzard of February 2013, Irene and Sandy and the Blizzard of ’96.
Moreover, he has been awarded the “Seal of Approval” from The American Meteorological Society for weather forecasting and broadcasting. In addition, volunteers his time to raise important money for the American Cancer Society, FAVARH, Special Olympics, the March of Dimes and the American Heart Association.

Maxon suffered a mild heart attack on March 21 while he was at work. He said he started feeling unwell Monday night, after taking his youngest daughter out to dinner. He was taken to St. Francis Hospital and by mid-afternoon that very day, he had received almost 1,000 shows of support on his Facebook page. Fortunately, is recovering well, it was announced on the air Monday morning.
