Bill Ritter is an American anchor working for WABC-TV as a weekday evening co-anchor at 5, 6, and 11 pm alongside Sade Baderinwa. He joined the WABC-TV in June 1998, as a weekend anchor and 20/20 as a correspondent.

Bill Ritter Career

While working at WABC-TV, Ritter began anchoring the 11 pm newscast in October 1999, and later in February 2001, he took up the 6 pm newscast as its anchor. Since 1992, Bill has covered big and important events for Eyewitness News and ABC News.

Bill has covered for ABC News and Eyewitness News, big and important events, and after joining ABC, he founded “Good Morning America/Sunday” as co-host. Los Angeles is Ritter’s native home and he reported for the Fox Television Network on the subsequent Los Angeles riots and the Rodney King trial. In addition, he worked for the Fox Network as a reporter from August 1991 through February 1992. While working for Fox Network, he reported on the nationally syndicated show Entertainment Daily Journal (E.D.J.).

Furthermore, Ritter has also worked for KTTV-TV (Fox Television) in Los Angeles from February 1990 to August 1991. While he was at KTTV-TV, he served as an investigative reporter and he anchored the station’s Gulf War coverage. Bill started his broadcasting career at KNSD-TV (NBC affiliate) in San Diego as an investigative and business reporter from February 1987 to January 1990. In addition, his print journalism career started in 1972, and he worked for the San Diego County edition of The Los Angeles Times as a reporter and then business editor.

Ritter worked for The Los Angeles Times from February 1984 to January 1987. He has also worked for the San Diego Business Journal from June 1980 to January 1984, while he was there, he served as a reporter and editor. He has worked for Crash, Inc. a non-profit drug education and prevention organization in San Diego. He was a member of the board and chairman of Crash, Inc. from 1980 to 1990. Additionally, in 1984 and 1985, Bill was a member of the advisory board for the San Diego State University Business School. Furthermore, he attended San Diego State University where he graduated proudly in 1972. He demonstrated against the Vietnam War for which he was kicked out of school.
