Ben Gutierrez is an American anchor and reporter working for Hawaii News Now as a weather anchor and news reporter. He joined the Hawaii News Now team in October 2009, after previously working for KGMB9 where he served as a weather anchor and reporter.
While Gutierrez was in elementary school he was particularly interested in space exploration and the race to get a man to the moon. He then joined St. Louis High School, where he earned a diploma and while he was ther, he enjoyed the television production class. After he had graduated from St. Louis High School, he joined Linfield College in Oregon, and during his freshman year, he became the news director of the student radio station. In addition, Ben also served as the news director of a small market radio station near Portland and while he worked at the station, he had the opportunity to meet former Presidents, Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter. After being away from home for many years, he decided to return to Hawaii to work at a radio station before he had the opportunity to work on television as a weather anchor.
