Ben Bradley Biography
Ben Bradley is an American Emmy-winning anchor and reporter working for WGN-TV as an investigative reporter and weekday evening co-anchor of the 4 pm and 5 pm newscast alongside Lourdes Duarte. He joined the WGN-TV team in January 2017.
Bradley was born and brought up in the south suburbs of Chicago. He attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School where e graduated with a high school diploma. Later on, he joined the University of Missouri-Columbia where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
Before Bradley joined WGN-TV, he worked in Chicago at WLS-TV, ABC7 where he served as a weekend morning anchor and reporter. While he worked at ABC 7, he traveled around the globe to cover a number of stories including trips to Brazil, China, the Caribbean, and almost twelve states.
Ben began his career in Columbia, Missouri at KOMU-TV in 1994, where he served as a weather anchor and reporter. Later on, he relocated to Charleston, South Carolina where he worked at WCBD-TV as a weekday morning weather anchor and news reporter. In addition, Ben worked at Tribune-owned CLTV as a weekend anchor and reporter from 1998 to 2002.
Not long ago, Bradley’s work has received recognition with five Emmys for his breaking news coverage. For his documentary on the legacy of former Mayor Richard M. Daley and his investigative reporting, two Illinois Broadcasters Association Silver Dome Awards were presented to him. Furthermore, Ben was a president of the Chicago Headline Club and is a member of the investigative Reporters & Editors Association.
