Arthur Chi’en Biography
Arthur Chi’en is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX 5 as a weekend anchor. He joined the FOX 5 news team in May 2014.
Chi’en has earned three Emmy awards and he currently serves as a general assignment reporter. In his role, he investigates and features political stories, and breaking news. He extensively covered the Covid-19 pandemic, issues ranging from transportation to public policy, and the decriminalization of cannabis. Arthur attended Hunter College High School where he graduated proudly and later joined Columbia University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
In addition, Arthur started his career in journalism at NBC News where he served as a producer for NBC’s Nightly News with Tom Brokaw. He also served as a New York Bureau producer for the Today Show. He is also a member of the Specials Unit, thus he has covered a number of high-profile events such as; plane crashes, hurricanes, and major trials such as; the O.J. Simpson trial and the crash of TWA 800.
In 1998, Chi’en joined New York 1 where he served as a reporter for a variety of subjects from hard news to features to investigative. Later on, he joined WFXT-TV in Boston and then relocated to New York to work for WCBS-TV as a correspondent. Furthermore, he has also worked at WPIX-TV where he covered both national and international events including; the devastating tsunami in Southeast Asia, the transit strike, and Hurricane Sandy.
