Aric Richards is an American Emmy-winning anchor working for FOX 5 as a morning news anchor from 4:30 am to 6 am. He joined the FOX 5 team in 2015, as a multi-media journalist.
When Richards joined FOX 5, he wrote, shot, and edited his own stories for the evening newscast. In the same years, he shifted from serving as a reporter for the 4 pm to 4 am newscast to assisting a photographer in filming and editing his stories. Over the years, Aric has covered a number of the largest breaking news stories in the region and nation. A number of the stories he has covered include; many trips to the U.S.-Mexico border reporting on the immigration crisis, major wildfires in California, and presidential visits
Prior to relocating to San Diego, Richards worked at the NBC station in Bakersfield where he served as a reporter. Later on, he worked in Kern County where he served as the producer for two evening newscasts before shipping to reporting years later. In addition, he is a proud member of the Asian American Journalists Association. During his spare time, he enjoys traveling to different countries, hiking in La Jolla, and spending ample time with his family.
