Antoinette Antonio is an American anchor working for WCVB-TV as anchor of the 2 am, 4:30 am to 7 am, and 12 pm to 12: 30 pm newscasts. She joined the NewsCenter 5 team in June of 2013.
Antoinette Antonio Career
While serving as anchor of the 4;30 am to 7 am newscast, she works alongside anchor Doug Meehan and Meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon. On the noon newscast, she works alongside; co-anchor Erika Tarantal and Meteorologist Cindy Fitzgibbon. Ever since Antonio came to Boston, she has covered parades for three Patriots Super Bowl wins and two Red Sox World Series wins.
Prior to joining WCVB, Antoinette worked at KOB in Albuquerque, New Mexico where she served as a morning anchor and reporter. She worked at KOB for seven years, and during that time, she covered everything from floods to wildfires to snow storms and also hot air balloon crashes. In addition, Antonio has the opportunity to interview Barack Obama during his campaign for Presidency. She has also received a number of awards from the New Mexico Broadcasters Association for her breaking news.
Furthermore, Antonio began her broadcasting career at KWES Midland/Odessa, Texas where she served as a morning anchor and reporter. While she was at the station, she received many awards for her sports reporting, anchoring, and general assignment reporting. In addition, Antoinette attended the University of California, Irvine where she graduated with degrees in International Studies and English.
Antoinette is a member of the Asian American Journalists Association. During her spare time, she enjoys; snowboarding in the winter, reading on the beach, traveling, eating out at restaurants in Boston, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
