Anthony Carpino Biography
Anthony Carpino is an American Emmy-Aawrd Winning meteorologist working for WVIT as a weekday meteorologist. He joined the WVIT news team in Jul 2023, after previously working for WAGT News.
Carpino pursued his high school education at the Academy of Aerospace and Engineering in 2014. Then he joined Lyndon State College and graduated with a Bachelor in Associate of Science – in AS Electronic Journalism Arts and a Bachelor of Science – BS Atmospheric Sciences in 2019. While there, he was part of the American Meteorological Society Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society Northern Vermont Weather Service. He then began his professional career working at News 7 in Lyndonville, VT as a meteorologist in 2017.
He was with the team for a year and six months before joining WRDW/WAGT News 12 NBC 26 in Augusta, Georgia Area as a weekend morning meteorologist and MMJ in September 2019. Later on, he was the station’s weekend evening meteorologist and finally the evening meteorologist before joining NBC Connecticut West Hartford. This will be Carpino’s second time as an employee at NBC Connecticut, as he previously worked as a weather intern for the station back in 2018. Additionally, he also spent time working as a weather reporter for his college news station in Lyndonville, Vermont. In October 2022, Carpino was a part of the winning “Best Weather Team” awarded by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters.

The West Hartford-based NBC Connecticut has hired Caprino as its new weekday meteorologist. He announced on June 13 that he is taking a position at NBC Connecticut. Here, he will be replacing the station’s former meteorologist, Josh Cingarnelli, who left the news station earlier this year after six years to take a job at the Connecticut Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. This will be Carpino’s second time as an employee at NBC Connecticut, as he previously worked as a weather intern for the station back in 2018.
