Annie McCormick is an American reporter working for 6ABC as a general assignment reporter. She joined the 6ABC news team in September 2012, after previously working at Harrisburg as a weekend anchor and reporter.
Annie McCormick Career
McCormick previously worked in Harrisburg before joining 6ABC, and before that, she worked in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Waco, Texas. She started her journalism career in The White House press office where she served as a photo intern. After having graduated, Annie worked for wire services and newspapers as a photojournalist in the Tri-State area for; The Philadelphia Daily News, The New York Times, Star magazines, the Associated Press, US Weekly, and many others.
For a number of years, McCormick worked on The Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers Board. Annie has also worked closely with U.S. Marshals to track down Megan’s Law offenders and she created the series “Wanted in Central PA,” which profiled local fugitives. In addition, while working at 6ABC, She extensively covered major events and crime from the 2015 Papal visit to Super Storm Sandy.
Furthermore, McCormick has won a number of Associated Press awards and she received Emmy nominations in both Pennsylvania and New Mexico. The Dauphin County Victims Witness Assistance Program named her as the Media Advocate of the Year in 2012. In addition, she was also named as the Media Person of the Year 2017, by The International Association of Firefighters, Local 22. She also has the privilege to sing in The Archdiocesan Choir.
Annie has also authored books such as; The Doctor, The Motorcycle Gang in 2020, and The Hitman. South Jersey is where McCormick was born and brought up, and she attended Moorestown High School in Moorestown, New Jersey. She also attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania where she graduated with a major in Communications and a minor in Music.
