Annalisa Burgos is an American anchor and reporter working for Hawaii News Now as a reporter and weekend evening anchor at 5 pm, 9 pm, and 10 pm. She joined Hawaii News Now in April 2022.
Los Angeles is her native home. In 1995, Burgos joined the University of California, Los Angeles where she graduated in 2000, with a Bachelor of Arts in communications and English with a specialization in Business Administration. Later in 2003, she joined Columbia University where she studied in its school of journalism and graduated in 2004, with a Master in Broadcasting.
Burgos brings personality and credibility to her reporting of everything from Asia politics to Wall Street to travel and food. She is an international television anchor and journalist who has had over 22 years of experience in covering business, news, and lifestyle in; Manila, Los Angeles, Singapore, New York City, and other cities across Asia and the United States. In addition, she lectures news reporting at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and not long ago, she worked at KITV-4 in Honolulu, Hawaii where she served as an anchor and reporter for a period of 2 years.
In 2019, she was a Jefferson Fellow of the East-West Center, and she studied immigration policy in Hawaii, Korea, the Philippines, and Australia. Prior to relocating to Honolulu, Burgos worked at the ABS-CBN News Channel as a news anchor and managing editor. While she was at the station, she covered local and international politics, the Duterte administration, and served as the host of Food Diplomacy. Furthermore, while she hosted the Food Diplomacy segment, she dined with ambassadors while they discussed culture and geopolitics.
Burgos has also worked for Channel NewsAsia where she was an anchor and correspondent and traveled across Asia for her weekly travel and food series known as What’s Cooking. Prior to relocating to Asia, she worked in New York where she served as a reporter, anchor, and digital editor for major media companies such as HGTV, Forbes, Bloomberg, and CNBC. She started her career as a newspaper reporter. Annalisa is a board member of the Filipino Young Leaders Program and is a supporter of women and youth empowerment. During her spare time, she enjoys singing karaoke, traveling, exploring new cultures and food, and spending ample time with her husband and two children.
