Anna Albaryan is an American anchor and reporter working for Spectrum News 1 as a multimedia journalist. She joined the Spectrum News 1 news team in September 2022, after previously working for KTLA 5.
Albaryan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Literary Journalism from the University of California, Irvine, and received a Journalism Certificate with a Concentration in Media Studies in Journalism from the University of California, Los Angeles. While at UC Irvine, she researched, reported, and wrote feature news pieces for the school paper, The New University Newspaper. Albaryan, who covers stories that impact Southern California, knows how important it is to amplify the voices of other immigrants. She also has a passion for finding captivating, untold stories hidden in the nooks and crevices of everyday life. Her goal is to inform and inspire her viewers.
Before joining the Spectrum News 1 team, Albaryan spent four years working as a producer and writer at KTLA 5, where she earned an Emmy Award for her writing on the station’s 10 p.m. newscast. From 2013 to 2014, Albaryan worked as a sports correspondent for KUCI 88.9 FM, in Orange County, California Area. During her tenure there, she attended the school’s basketball events, interviewed players and coaches, and wrote original broadcast pieces, which aired each Thursday at 9:30 a.m. on the KUCI News Update.
