Angelique Lizarde is an American anchor working for KVOA-TV as a weekday noon and evening co-anchor of the 5 pm newscast alongside Sean Mooney. She joined the KVOA-TV news team in August 2015.
San Diego is Angelique’s native home and she attended the University of San Diego where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communications in 2003. Later on, Lizarde studied at Boston University where she earned a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism in 2007, and she is eloquent in Spanish speaking. After having graduated, Angelique worked for KYMA-TV in Yuma, Arizona where she served as a reporter and anchor for a year.
From October 2009 to 2012, Lizarde worked at KVOA-TV while serving as a reporter and multimedia journalist. She has also worked for KFMB-TV in San Diego, California where she served as a breaking news reporter for 2 years. While working for KFMB-TV, Angelique covered a number of high-profile cases that made national headlines and conducted numerous interviews with elected officials.
