Andrea Grymes is an American reporter and anchor working for CBS2 as a general assignment reporter and co-anchors the weekend morning newscasts.

New York is Grymes’ native home and she was born in Queens and brought up in Long Island and in Texas. At the age of 16, was when Andrea discovered her love for television, as she delivered the morning announcements for her high school’s television station. In addition, during 9/11, Andrea and her classmates in Texas reported the news of the terrorist attacks in Washington, D.C., and New York. From that day, she decided to pursue broadcast journalism as a career. Andrea attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas where she graduated magna cum laude with a double major in journalism and political science.
While working at WCBS, Grymes covered a variety of stories and she traveled to Israel and Italy in 2017 where she covered President Donald Trump’s first foreign trip. Andrea was present at the U.S. Capitol and the White House where she covered live reports. In addition, she has also covered; the deadly Amtrak derailment in Philadelphia, the capture of the Chelsea and Seaside Heights bombing suspect, Pope Francis’ trip to New York, and the Mets 2015 playoff run.
Prior to joining WCBS, Grymes worked for WNYW-TV in New York where she served as a reporter from March 2013. While she was at the station, her most memorable assignments included; local security efforts after the Boston Marathon bombings, post-Superstorm Sandy rebuilding efforts, and Prince Harry’s visit to Harlem. In 2006, Andrea began her career at News 12 Networks as a reporter. She worked for News 12 Brooklyn, News 12 The Bronx, and News 12 Long Island for almost seven years. In addition to anchoring and reporting, she also shot and edited many of her stories.
Furthermore, Grymes has covered a wide range of assignments at News 12, inclusive of the Nixzmary Brown murder trials, Bernie Madoff’s sentencing, Pope Benedict’s trip to New York, Superstorm Sandy, and the Miracle on the Hudson. Before joining News 12, Grymes worked at Fox News Channel where she served as a production assistant and as an intern during college. During her spare time, she enjoys listening to country music, exploring New York City, and spending ample time with her husband, family, and friends.
