Amelia Draper is an American Emmy-winning meteorologist working for NBC4 as an evening meteorologist on NBCWashington.com and on 103.5 WTOP Radio. She joined News4 in March 2013.
Frederick, Maryland is Draper’s native home and she desired to forecast the weather in Washington, D.C ever since she began studying meteorology at Penn State University thus she even graduated early from college so she could start working. Amelia was able to secure her first job at CNET in State College, Pennsylvania, while she worked at CNET, she familiarised herself with weather phenomena like lake effect snow which assisted her to secure her next job.
Draper then joined WIVB-WNLO in Buffalo where she worked on the morning shift. In addition, she is a huge fan of fitness as it plays a major role in her life, from her high school job when she was a snowboard instructor at Whitetail Ski Resort.
