Amber Sherlock is an Australian television news presenter and reporter working for 9News as a presenter of the weather on Nine News Sydney. She joined the 9news team in April 2007, after previously working for Sky News.
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Technology, Sydney, Amber began her 14-year journalism career with the Seven Network in Sydney. She worked as a snowfields reporter in New South Wales before transferring to the financial news service of the Commonwealth Bank. After the Olympics in Sydney, Amber relocated to the Ten Network.
After that, Amber relocated to London and worked for a number of years as a finance journalist before coming back to Canberra to take up a job anchoring a news and current affairs show for the Ten Network. Amber moved to Sydney as a financial journalist for Commsec after her successful time in Canberra, and she then joined Sky News Australia as a newsreader and business presenter. Prior to moving to the Evening News to headline a nightly business program, she joined the First Edition crew.
Amber began working for the Nine Network in 2007 as a business and financial correspondent for TODAY. She continued by hosting the early morning Qantas Inflight News, which is currently aired on the Nine Network as the Early Morning News. Along with co-hosts Cameron Williams and Leila McKinnon, as well as sports correspondent Michael Slater, Amber joined WEEKEND TODAY in January 2009.

On January 12, 2017, a video of Sherlock off-air losing her cool during a commercial break on Nine News Now was leaked. The reason for Sherlock’s outburst was that she and fellow journalist reporter Julie Snook—who maintained that she was actually wearing a light blue color—as well as guest psychologist Sandy Rea were wearing the same color, white. For the conversation part, Sherlock said “We cannot all be in white” and insisted that Snook wear a jacket.
Sherlock claimed in a statement to 9Honey that she “probably overreacted” to the circumstances and that “live TV can be a pretty stressful beast, at times.” Snook said to 9Honey that she still keeps in touch with Sherlock and that she enjoys working with her. Jimmy Kimmel opened the show on Jimmy Kimmel Live! with a segment featuring the clip. “I don’t know who decided to release this tape but whoever that was I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Kimmel stated in his opening monologue.
