Amber Rupinta is an American anchor working for ABC11 as a noon and 4 p.m. anchor. She joined the ABC11 news team in February 2004.

In addition, to serving as an anchor, Rupinta also serves as a meteorologist and she reports on a number of stories throughout the Triangle. When she joined ABC11, she served as the co-anchor of the weekend morning newscast for 5 years, and later on, she served as an early morning anchor of This Morning for 8 years before later shifting to the evening team. Furthermore, a number of Amber’s famous stories she has covered for ABC11 include; the battle for North Carolina’s votes by presidential candidates; Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Hillary Clinton
Amber has also covered a number of hurricanes, the Conagra plant explosion, a terrorist attack at UNC-CH, and the Carthage nursing home massacre that left 8 people dead. Before joining WTVD, she worked for WHAG in Hagerstown, Maryland, and WCAU, the NBC affiliate in Philadelphia. Furthermore, Rupinta began her career at WJZ in Baltimore where she worked behind the camera. Later on, she became a reporter for the Baltimore Sun High School Sports Show.
Rupinta is familiar with Carolinas as she spent a number of years on the Cherokee Indian Reservation. She is among the 8 children and “military brats” whose childhood days were spent all over the United States. She is a member of the National Weather Association and the Asian-American Journalists Association. Amber attended Towson University where she graduated proudly. She also studied at Mississippi State University where she completed her Meteorology Certificate program in 2016. Furthermore, she also studied at UNC Chapel Hill where she earned a certificate in Technology and Communication. She earned her second Bachelor of Science in Geoscience from Mississippi State University in August 2017.
