Diaz attended Holy Cross High School in Waterbury and graduated with a high school diploma. Subsequently, she chose to follow her career dream and joined the University of Connecticut where she graduated with a degree in English and Journalism. Advancing her education, she went ahead and graduated with a Master’s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism from Syracuse University in 2013.
She began her career as an entertainment reporter at Fashion Times Co. in 2013. Here she wrote articles on trending and entertainment news, pitched creative story ideas daily, and pushed digital content at the moment entertainment news hit. She was on the team for eleven months before moving on to News 12 the Bronx as a news reporter in 2014. Where she vetted stories and conducted interview with locals, celebrities, and political figures in the number 1 television news market.
KPTV Fox 12 Oregon hired her in 2016 as a news and sports reporter. Here, she covered a variety of stories including the 2016 presidential elections, the Portland riots, and the triple stabbing on a Max train that made national news. Moreover, she also pitched a unique story of a life of humiliatrix: A woman who humiliates men for money and a couple in a polyamorous relationship. Prior to joining NBC Connecticut, she was with the CBS Miami news team for six years where she was the television news reporter.
Managing to cover the FIU Bridge collapse and also performed live shots for CBS headquarters and its affiliate stations. Later, she moved to WTNH on March 8, 2020, a time to be recognized as it was at the start of the growth of the coronavirus pandemic. Here she reported and anchored the weekend evening news at 6 p.m., 10 p.m., and 11 p.m.
