Alison King Biography
Alison King is an American three-time Emmy award-winning political reporter who is currently working at NBC 10 Boston and NECN. She joined the WBTS and NECN team in 1995 as the station’s first Connecticut Bureau Chief.
Alison King Career
While serving as a political reporter, she has covered six presidential races and a wide range of New England political stories, including a documentary on the late Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy. Previously, she worked at WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut where she served as a reporter. Furthermore, she has worked at WECT-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina, and News 12 in Norwalk, Connecticut where she served as an anchor and reporter.
During the 1988 Winter Olympic Games in Calgary, she worked on programming for ABC Sports and at ABC’s Good Morning America. In addition, over the years she has received many awards for her outstanding work. A number of those awards include; three Emmys, two Gracies, and several Associated Press Awards, and she was a contributing member to NECN’s 2000 Dupont Award.
During the May 2007 documentary, “The Education of Deval Patrick, The First 100 Days,” she served as a reporter and producer. In addition, while serving as a journalist, she has traveled around the world, from Bosnia with the Massachusetts National Guard in 1997 following the war to a Trade Mission to Israel with Gov. Patrick.
In the year 2014, she traveled to Washington for a behind-the-scenes visit to the White House, including a one-on-one interview with President Obama. In addition, she attended Colgate University where she graduated with an undergraduate degree. Furthermore, she also studied at the New York University’s School of Journalism where she graduated with a master’s degree.
