Alice Gainer is an American anchor and reporter working for CBS2 as a general assignment reporter and anchor. She joined the CBS2 news team in January 2013, after previously working for Fox 5.

While working for CBS2, Gainer covers feature stories, breaking news, and general assignment stories. She has also covered; the 2019 NYC blackout, the NYC rape and sex assault trial of Harvey Weinstein, Pope Francis’ visit to New York City in 2015, and flew with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds on an F-16. After a man drove into pedestrians in Times Square in 2017, she was the first reporter on air. In addition, Alice worked for News at 9 on sister-station WLNY TV 10/55 from 2013 to 2015, while serving as a co-anchor alongside Dick Brennan.
Before joining CBS2, Gainer worked for WNYW Fox 5 New York where she served as a reporter covering; Connecticut shootings, the Newtown, and Superstorm Sandy devastation. While she worked at FOX, her stories were seen nationally on FOX News Channel. Prior to working at FOX 5, Alice was at News 12 New Jersey where she served as a weekday morning reporter and a weekend morning anchor. In addition, she has also worked at News 12 Westchester/Hudson Valley as a freelance reporter, and she has made appearances on CNN, Fox Business Network, and Reuters Insider.
Furthermore, Gainer worked in radio before joining television and a number of radio stations she worked on include; WOR, WBGO, NPR affiliate, Air America, and MetroNetworks: WABC. Over the years, Gainer has earned eight New York Emmy awards while serving as a reporter in the categories of; “Spot News,” “Entertainment News,” “Crime News,” and many more. For more than 12 times, Gainer has been nominated for Emmy awards in the categories of “Entertainment News,” “Health/Science News,” “Spot News,” and “LIVE Reporter.”
In 2019, she was recognized with a New York State Broadcasters Association Award for “Outstanding Spot News.” While working at CBS2, she represents the station on a number of charities such as; Susan G. Komen’s Race for the Cure, the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation, The New York Jets Tackle Bullying, and many more. Furthermore, Gainer has many a number of appearances on television shows and feature films as an anchor and reporter; The Bourne Legacy, Delivery Man, The Week Of, and the hit CBS show Bull.
New Jersey is Alice’s native home and she is happy to call the Tri-State Area home. She attended Fordham University in the Bronx, New York where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies; Television and Radio in 2004. While she was in college, she worked at NPR affiliate WFUV 90.7FM. , and she received a “Gracie” which is a Gracie Allen award from the American Women In Radio And Television for her anchoring.
