Alex Fisher Biography
Alex Fisher is an American three-time Emmy-winning anchor working for KGET 17. He serves as a weekday morning co-anchor of 17News Sunrise from 5 am to 7 am alongside Maddie Janssen. In addition, he joined the KGET 17 news team in May 2016.
Bakersfield is Alex’s native home and he attended Rosedale North Elementary School, Freedom Middle School and graduated from Liberty High School in 2012. Later on, he joined Pepperdine University in Malibu where he earned a degree in Broadcast Journalism and Rhetoric. In addition, while Fisher was studying at Pepperdine University, he was actively involved with the campus television station, NewsWaves 32, where he served as an anchor, reporter, and producer.
Furthermore, Fisher served also worked for the campus newspaper, The Graphic as the the assignment editor. Alex also interned at WRC-TV, NBC4 in Washington, D.C during the summer season. In addition, he also studied abroad in Heidelberg, Germany for an academic year. While Alex was abroad, he visited many countries and till today, he continues traveling around the world. During his done time, he enjoys walking around to the local coffee shops in downtown Bakersfield, and exploring new eateries around the county.
