Alecia Reid Biography
Alecia Reid is an American Emmy award-winning reporter working for CBS2 as a correspondent. She joined the CBS New York team in July 2022.
While working for CBS2, Reid is a sustainability and social justice advocate. She is passionate about giving a voice to people who are not able to tell their stories. Prior to joining the WCBS news team, Alecia worked in San Francisco and Philadelphia where she served as a reporter. In addition, the Bronx is Alecia’s native home and she began her broadcasting career at News 12 Bronx/Brooklyn. She had the privilege of sharing her craft in 2019, at Del York Creative Academy in Lagos, Nigeria where she taught journalism.
Furthermore, Reid has a passion for poverty, clean water and sanitation (WASH), and the environment. As of the moment, she is a student at the Harvard Extension School where she studied Global Development Practice. During her spare time, she can be found volunteering with several charitable organizations. A number of her favorites are; Global Village, Habitat for Humanity, and Big Brother Big Sister.
