Adam Winkler Biography
Adam Winkler is an American Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter who is currently working at KTRK-TV. He serves as the weekend evening sportscast, news anchor, and reporter at the station. In addition, he joined the ABC13 Houston team in July 2021.
Adam Winkler Career
Previously, he worked at WTKR-TV, the CBS affiliate in Norfolk/Virginia Beach where he served as a Sports Director and weekend morning news co-anchor for a period of five years. While he worked at the station, he led the relaunch of its sports department and assisted the team transform it into an award-winning operation.
Spring is his native home and he attended Klein High School where he graduated proudly. Later on, he attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where he also graduated proudly. Furthermore, while he was at the University, he assisted the Pirates baseball team reach the conference title game for four straight years and twice advanced to the NCAA Division III championship.
In addition, he relocated to Virginia in 2016. His career in journalism began in Monroe, Louisiana where he worked at KNOE from 2004. Over the years he has also worked at KEYE-TV in Austin and KWTX in Waco. Furthermore, he has featured everything from competitive tree climbers to College World Series. Additionally, he has also reported from Super Bowls XLVII, LI, LII, LIII, and LIV, multiple Final Fours, and the longest basketball game in Big 12 history.
However, his memorable assignments are not limited to sports. He has also reported live from West, Texas, on the morning of April 18, 2013, following the town’s deadly fertilizer plant explosion, and extensively covered the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Not long ago, in May 2019, he helped with WTKR’s live coverage of the Virginia Beach mass shooting.
