Adam Kuperstein is an American anchor and reporter working for NBC 4 as a weekday anchor at 11 am and 5 pm, and weekday general assignment reporter. He joined the NBC 4 news team a decade ago.
Adam Kuperstein Career
For Kuperstein’s anchoring and reporting during the COVID-19 pandemic, the NBC 4 news team was awarded in January 2021, with the prestigious Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award. He was also the first local television reporter who was live during the scene of December 2019’s deadly Jersey City shootout. In addition, for his real-time breaking news coverage, NBC 4 New York was awarded by the Radio Television Digital News Association (RTDNA) with a 2020 National Edward R. Murrow Award. The award was presented in the categories of “Team Coverage” and “Breaking News Coverage.”
Over the years, Adam has covered numerous memorable stories such as; the deadly anti-Semitic attack at the Tree of Life Synagogue that he reported in October 2018 from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and reported from the U.S. Capitol riots in January 2021, that interrupted the certification of the 2020 Presidential election. In addition, Kuperstein interviewed Tri-State officials who attended the Squirrel Hill memorial service and members of Steel City’s faith community. Following the deadly mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Kuperstein reported from Parkland, Florida in February 2018.
Furthermore, Adam has covered Hurricanes; Dorian in Florida, Irma, the deadly 2018 Trump Tower inferno in Manhattan, and a New York Emmy was presented to the anchoring team for the coverage of the January 4, 2018, Tri-State blizzard. Before Kuperstein relocated to New York, he worked for NBC6 / WTVJ in South Florida where he served as a weekday news and sports anchor for over ten years. In addition, while he worked at WTVJ, he reported on the 2012 presidential debate at Lynn University and covered three presidential elections.
Adam has also led the station’s sports coverage inclusive of live reports from the 2016 Rio Olympics. He has worked for Fox affiliate WUPW-TV in Toledo, Ohio as a weekend sports anchor and at WHIZ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Zanesville, Ohio. Kuperstein attended Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications where he graduated with a dual bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Finance.
