Adam Benigni is an American fill-in news anchor and Sports Director working at WGRZ-TV Buffalo, New York where he anchors the evening sportscasts from Sunday to Thursday, Sports Talk Sunday, and fills in for weekday evening news when main talent is off since joining WGRZ-TV in 1997. This is after he previously worked for WSTM-TV.
Benigni attended Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1991. He then began his career professionally as a radio color commentator for the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League. He then went on to join the WSTM -TV news team, the NBC affiliate in Syracuse as a sports reporter ad anchor.
During his career journey, Benigni has been awarded various awards including, two Edward R. Murrow regional awards for sports reporting, four Emmy nominations, an Associated Press first-place award for his coverage of the Sabres season-opening trip to Europe in 2011, and a Best of Gannett for sports anchoring and reporting in 2006.
